Day 1
Belgrade, Serbia Welcome to Serbia! Arrival at Belgrade airport and transfer to your travel hotel. In the evening you will meet your fellow travelers and Tour Director have dinner in one of the local restaurants in the Bohemian part of Belgrade, Skadarlija. Overnight stay at the hotel
Day 2
Belgrade, Serbia Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning sightseeing of Belgrade with a Byzantine Cathedral visit to the houses Military Museum and Kalemegdan Fortress the Museum of Princess Ljubica Belgrade, the rest of the day is free. Overnight stay at the hotel. (B)
Day 3
Belgrade, Serbia / Sarajevo, Bosnia Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast we leave Belgrade and drive to the wild and romantic mountainous country of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the afternoon arrival in the capital Sarajevo. The city, decorated with pointed minarets, is a city of contrasts, a harmonious mixture of East and West. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel. Day 4
Sarajevo / Mostar, Bosnia / Dubrovnik, Croatia Breakfast at the hotel. The day begins with a walk through this semi-oriental city, visiting the old oriental quarter Bascarsija with its mosques and small workshops. Later, a panoramic visit to the rest of the city and finally a visit to the War Museum Tunnel, through which Sarajevo had the only connection to the world during its siege. After saying goodbye to Sarajevo, we will head south Adriatic Sea and stop in Mostar on the way to visit the famous, newly built Old Bridge of Mostar. Drive through the valley of the blue-green river Neretva to the Adriatic coast and later along a spectacular coastline to the world-famous spa town of Dubrovnik. Overnight stay in a hotel. (B)
Day 5
Dubrovnik, Croatia Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, the beautifully preserved medieval town with its imposing city wall is the focus of the city tour. Highlights include the Rector's Palace and the Franciscan Monastery, which houses one of the oldest pharmacies in Europe. The afternoon is at your leisure to explore the narrow cobblestone streets of the old town on your own. Overnight stay at the hotel. (B)
Day 6
Dubrovnik / Split, Croatia Breakfast at the hotel. On the way north along the Adriatic Sea to Split we want to explore the enormous palace, which the Roman Emperor Diocletian had built in the 4th century as an old people's home and which is also on the World UNESCO Heritage List. We will see the temple of Jupiter, the peristyle and the cathedral as well as the many Renaissance and Gothic buildings of Split. Over time, the city has invaded the nooks and crannies of the palace; shopkeepers and small restaurants have settled within its massive walls. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel. (B, D)
Day 7
Split / Plitvice National Park via Trogir, Croatia Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast we drive north along the Dalmatian coast to Trogir, which was originally founded as a Greek colony in the 3rd century BC. It was founded in the 3rd century B.C. Here we walk through the marble covered streets to the portal of St. Lawrence Cathedral. Then we go on to the beautiful Plitvice Lakes National Park. During a walk through the natural splendor of Plitvice Lakes National Park this afternoon we will explore the breathtaking landscape of this natural wonder of 16 terraced lakes, surrounded by densely forested mountains and lush vegetation. Each of the waterfalls is at a different altitude and flows into the next through a series of spectacular cascades and foaming waterfalls. The afternoon is at your leisure to explore the wonders of the National Park. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. (B, D)
Day 8
Plitvice, Croatia / Bled via Postojna, Slovenia Breakfast at the hotel.We return to the coast to the beautiful bay of Kvaner and its popular holiday resort Opatija. Then we continue north to Postojna, home to the largest caves in Europe. Here we explore a fantastic underground world by electric miniature train and on foot. Afterwards our journey continues to Bled in the Julian Alps. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel. (B, D)
Day 9
Bled, Slovenia Beakfast at the hotel. In the morning, we drive to Slovenia’s capital, where we enjoy the tour of the city that is filled with churches and fin-de-siecle palaces – reminders of the town’s baroque Austro - Hungarian days. Ljubljana’s castle and Roman ruins speak of even earlier rulers. The charming old town nestled between the castle hill and the Ljubljanica River is reached by the Tromostovje “the triple bridge.” Here we stroll across the triple bridge and through the local market, offering typical Slovenian foods and everyday products; see the City Hall; Robba’s Fountain and visit Ljubljana Castle. We also see the famous “Dragon Bridge”, the symbol of Ljubljana. In the afternoon, we return to Bled to tour this lake resort with included visit to the Castle, perched on the cliff high above the lake. In the evening, join your fellow travelers and Tour Director for a farewell dinner in Castle restaurant in Bled. (B, D)
Day 10
Bled, Slovenia Breakfast at the hotel. Your tour finishes after breakfast in Bled and transfer to Ljubljana Airport. (B)
