Day 1

Bled, Slovenia; You will be met at Ljubljana airport and transferred to your hotel in Bled. The day is at leisure until a welcome dinner. Overnight at the hotel. (D)

Day 2

Bled, Slovenia; Breakfast at the hotel. A sightseeing tour of Bled features the charming town with the lake shore, and imposing Bled Castle, perched on a cliff high above the lake. After your tour, travel to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Here, view the Central open-air Market, Baroque Town Hall, Robba’s Fountain, the Three Bridges and the Parliament. Return to Bled in the evening. (B, D)

Day 3

Bled / Postojna, Slovenia / Venice, Italy; Breakfast at the hotel. Leave Bled and drive south to Postojna, home to the second largest caves in the world. Tour this fantastic subterranean world by miniature electric train and on foot. Then, continue to the marvelous city of Venice. After dinner overnight at the hotel. (B, D)

Day 4

Venice, Italy; Breakfast at the hotel. The day begins with a walking tour of Venice featuring the major highlights: St. Mark’s Square, St. Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace, the Bell Tower and the Bridge of Sighs. The tour ends with a visit to a glass blowing factory where you may see the demonstration of a traditional Venetian glass blowing. Balance of the day is at leisure. In the afternoon, enjoy Venice at your own pace, shop or join an optional gondola ride. Overnight at the hotel. (B, D)

Day 5

Venice, Italy / Opatija, Croatia; Breakfast at the hotel. Leave the City of Dreams and drive on the highway in order to cross the border back to Slovenia and shortly afterwards to Croatia. Enjoy the ride through Istria, which is often compared to Tuscany in order to reach bay of Kvarner and its popular resort, Opatija. An orientation tour of Opatija will present the highlights of this former Imperial resort city, which is also your today destination. After dinner overnight at the hotel. (B, D)

Day 6

Opatija / Plitvice National Park; Croatia Breakfast at the hotel. The ay begins with the drive from Bay of Kvarner to the mainland of Croatia in order to reach Plitvice National Park by noon. Enjoy Plitvice National Park, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Have your camera ready and take a walking tour around several of the lower lakes. Wonder at the breath taking scenery of this natural wonder with 16 terraced lakes surrounded by thickly wooded mountains and lush vegetation. After dinner overnight at the hotel. (B, D)

Day 7

Plitvice National Park / Split via Trogir; Croatia Breakfast at the hotel. Morning is to relax at Plitvice lakes and take some additional photos of this marvelous place. Leave Plitvice National Park and drive through Lika back to Adriatic coast. Stop on the highway to admire the bay of Skradin and the entrance to another national park, Krka. Proceed to Trogir, Trogir, the center of artistic activities. Scholars from around the world gather to study and paint here. From Trogir to Split, the final destination of this day is only a short ride. After dinner overnight at the hotel. (B, D)

Day 8

Split / Dubrovnik; Croatia Breakfast at the hotel. Morning sightseeing tour of Split features the historic inner city, built around the Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. See the remnants of Split’s Roman heritage, its Renaissance and Gothic structures, Jupiter’s Temple, the Peristyle and the Cathedral. In the afternoon leave Split and drive to the Pearl of Adriatic, Dubrovnik. Overnight at the hotel. (B, D)

Day 9

Dubrovnik; Croatia Breakfast at the hotel. This morning there is a walking tour of “Old Dubrovnik”; the Rector’s Palace, Bell Tower Clock, Orlando’s Column and the Sponza Palace. You will also see the Dominican Monastery and Franciscan Monastery with its Pharmacy, one of the oldest in the world. The afternoon is at leisure and in the evening join your travel companions for the farewell dinner in one of the local restaurants within the walls of the Old City. Overnight at the hotel. (B, D)

Day 10

Dubrovnik, Croatia Breakfast at the hotel. Your experience comes to the end with the transfer to Dubrovnik airport for your homebound flight. (B)
