Portoroz DMC Incentive Program

  • by

Portoroz is one of the three best known destinations for MICE in Slovenia. With a selected network of local experiences at destination, the experience is much more. Organising the hotel accommodations in Portoroz at one of the 5* hotels offers also to have a professional meeting event. We will present a program, that can be a nice addition to a meeting event in Portoroz.

Afternoon activities that capture the local essence and embrace the cultural heritage can be short and easy or longer and more intense. The variations change according to the time at disposal as well to the needs of the client.

First experience is an easy adventure ride to the unique fountain we proudly hold in the area. Boarding the vintage olive mini vans and enjoying a drive towards the hinterland of Portoroz is an adventure. The journey is enriched with an additional stop at the Olive oil mill, where a tasting and presentation of the olive oil produced in the region is held. Getting to learn about the live oil production and having a taste of the variations produced on site. Next stop is the amazing view point over Koper, where the Wine Fountain is at home. A stop offers a tasting with 3 tokens to be used at the wine fountain. Wine offer includes a taste of the regional wines along with some nibbles.

Second experience for a sunny day is the visit of the Fonda Aquaculture. The fish garden is located in the heart of the Piran Salt fields and offers an in-depth visit to the aquaculture on the sea. A short boat sail takes you to the sea, where the process of breed is explained. Once back on the shore, under the pine trees, a tasting of the renowned Piran sea bass, olive oil and fleur de sel is prepared. The tour is an easy mixture between the heritage and local gastronomy.

Third day is reserved for the visit of Piran, with a sail from Portoroz. We embark on a journey with a wooden pirate-like boat. While enjoying the view on the coastal cities of Slovenian Istria, the cruise ends at Piran where a guided walking tour takes place. Piran is a city worth visiting again and again, for its distinct historical and vivid environment.  After a nice walk through the city’s narrow streets and a nice photo stop on top of the hill, its already lunchtime. A stop at one of the most famous fish restaurants of the Slovenian Istria, it’s time to savour a good meal prepared with freshly caught seafood. After this gastronomic stop in Piran, the guests return back to the Hotel.
